Brown Sugar

Pork Belly Stew

Ingredients 

400g Pork belly

3 Cloves of garlic

3 Star Anises

5 Tbsp Soy sauce

3 Tbsp Brown sugar

200 ml Water

What You Need

A medium pot with a lid

Knife

Steps

  1. Chop the garlic into big chunks or smash it.

  2. Boil the pork belly until the surface turns white. Drain the water, then cut it to the size you prefer for stew.

  3. Heat the pot over medium heat. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic to the pot. Stir until brown sugar melts evenly.

  4. Add pork belly back to the pot and coat it evenly with the sauce.

  5. Add 200 ml of water and star anise to the pot. Stew the pork over medium heat for 30 min. It’s ready to serve!

Tips: Add mushroom, carrots, reddish, or any​ vegetable as desired to the stew.
