Japanese Potato
Pork Stew

Ingredients
200g Pork belly slices
1 Small onion
1 Small carrot
1 Small potato
1 Scallion
3 Cloves garlic

1 tsp Rice Alcohol

1/2 tsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Soy sauce
1 Tbsp Japanese soy sauce
2 Tbsp Rice alcohol
1 tsp Sugar

Steps

Chop the carrot, potato, and gobo into chunks. Chop garlic, scallion, and onion into small chunks. Cut the pork belly slices into small pieces. Marinate the pork with marinade for 20 mins.

Heat a pot with light oil over medium heat. Stir-fry garlic and onion first until it turns golden.

Add carrot, potato, and pork belly to the pot, stir-fry them until the meat is half-cooked.

Add rice alcohol, soy sauce, Japanese soy sauce, sugar, and 300 ml of water to the pot. Stew it over high heat for 10 mins, then use low heat to slowly stew it for 30 mins.

Turn off the heat and season with scallion chunks. It’s ready to serve!
